By subscribing to the Ad Trader SMS Service you are agreeing to receive occasional SMS messages from Ad Trader informing you of promotions and events. You will not be charged for receiving these messages. To remove yourself from this message list, send STOP BROADCAST followed by your registered user id to 87355. i.e STOP BROADCAST 123456 to 87355. All STOP messages are charged at your normal network rate.
In addition to controlling Ad Trader SMS services you have opted in or out of via STOP messages, you can also control your SMS preferences from the SMS Services page. Ticking a box next to a specific service will enable your mobile phone to receive SMS message/s from Ad Trader. Unticking a box next to a specific service will stop your mobile phone from receiving SMS message/s from Ad Trader.
To stop all Ad Trader SMS services associated with your mobile phone number, send STOP ALL followed by your registered user id to 87355. i.e. STOP ALL 123456 to 87355 or alternatively use the SMS Services page and untick all services and click on the Change SMS Preference button.
Bid messages cost £1 (unless otherwise stated) plus your normal network rate. You will be charged via your initial bid confirmation reply message. Any bid status or ad hoc update messages you receive thereafter are free.
Bids sent by text message must be in the format shown on the Auction Page. For example ITEM NAME,
E.g. Text: LAPTOP 1234 to 87355
Bid amount must be in whole pence sterling, numeric, containing no letters. No other currency, legal or non-legal tender will be accepted. Bids not supplied in pence, or submitted with currency symbols (£) pence (p) commas (,) or decimal points (.) will be converted to relevant bid sum in pence. If the bid sum is submitted in an incorrect format and the bid confirmation reply message confirmed the converted sum - you will be charged for that bid. Bids received after the close date will not be entered in to the auction and may still be charged at the network operators rate.
Minimum bid is 1p and maximum bid is 100,000p. The duration of the auction is 1 week (unless otherwise stated) for each item. The entrant with lowest unique bid will be obliged to buy the auction item at that bid price where there will be a binding legal contract for the sale of the auction item by Ad Trader to the bidder. Ad Trader's record of each bid is the official record of bids. If the successful bidder defaults, Ad Trader may award the next lowest unique bidder. If no single lowest unique bidder exists, Ad Trader may award the bidder who first submitted the lowest non-unique bid amount resulting in fewest bidders.
Ad Trader may send additional bid hints and tips during the auction. These will be sent at no cost to you.
The auction closing date will be shown on the Auction Page for that item. Entrants must be 18 or over and resident of UK. No cash alternatives. Employees (and families) of Trader Publishing Limited and of associated suppliers are not eligible to participate. Ad Trader and suppliers cannot be held responsible for a breakdown in communication systems or networks that may result in a bid not being registered or text message not being delivered.
The successful bidder will be contacted after the close date and must agree to publicity. If you are not using your own mobile phone, ensure you have permission from the bill payer. Ad Trader accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered as a result of entering, bidding or accepting the auction item.
The successful bidder for each bid item will be notified by the mobile phone number with which they placed the successful bid, within 5 working days of the item's end date. Their name and bid item will be published on the Ad Trader web site and may also be published in Ad Trader publications.
Customers can text the words "UPGRADE" followed by their registered user id and their advert id TO 87355. For example "UPGRADE 12345 123.1234567". Your registered user id and advert id can be found on the "your ads" section on the website.
If you are subscribed to the Ad Trader Broadcast Service, we may send you a reminder text message, at no cost to you, to advise that you can upgrade your advert. Should you wish to accept the upgrade option, you need to reply YES to the text message received. We will not require your user id or advert id if it is in response to an upgrade message from Ad Trader.
The upgrade service will cost you £1 per text message plus your network operator's charges. The service will comprise of 2 text message replies. The first will acknowledge receipt of your advert upgrade request and the second text message confirms that your advert has been processed and will appear upgraded online within 8 working hours - subject to our standard advertising terms and conditions. Total cost to upgrade your free advert will therefore be £2 plus your network operator's charges.
All adverts are subject to our private advertising terms & conditions. By submitting your advert online you are requesting that your advert appears in Ad Trader (Website & Publications). The advert will not appear until we have verified and accepted your advert copy. Once your advert has been accepted, will we only then apply the upgrade. Your advert will only appear upgraded on the Ad Trader website (www.adtrader.co.uk) and will remain as a standard free lineage advert in your local publication if applicable.
Any Advert received after 4.00pm on a Friday will not be verified and accepted before the following Monday (excluding Bank Holidays). As a result of this, your SMS upgraded advert may not appear until 8 working hours after your advert has been accepted.
This upgrade applies to 1 advert for the booking duration of that advert as detailed in our Place an Ad FAQ's
Refunds for the SMS upgrade service adhere to the standard Ad Trader refund policy which can be found in our Place an Ad FAQ's
Mobile users are liable for all text messages received by Ad Trader's mobile Gateway. If the text message submitted is in an incorrect format or has incomplete details you will still be charged for both confirmation messages. Ad Trader is not liable for mobile operator errors or delays.
By sending a text you will be deemed to have read and understood these conditions and be bound by them.
You will receive a text message from Ad Trader reminding you that your advert is due to expire if you have opted in to the reminder service. If you wish to rebook your advert you can do so by replying to the text message with the word YES.
This service will cost £1 per text message plus your network operator's charges. The service will comprise of 1 text message reply that confirms your advert has been processed and will appear rebooked online within 8 working hours or when your current advert expires - subject to our standard advertising terms and conditions. Total cost to rebook your free advert will therefore be £1 plus your network operator's charges.
The SMS rebook reminder message is valid for one week from the date Ad Trader send it out. Ad Trader is not liable for any messages sent after that date.
